About Scott Stafne

Scott Erik Stafne is the Church Advocate for the Church of the Gardens (COTG). He is a third-generation lawyer who has been licensed to practice law before the courts of Washington since 1976. Since the early part of this century, a primary focus of Scott’s legal practice has involved the representation of debtors seeking to prevent the unlawful foreclosures of their homes.

Scott presently works as the attorney for Stafne Law Advocacy and Consulting (SLAC), which is a faith-based auxiliary of COTG. SLAC has the same mission as COTG, which includes filing legal pleadings to protect those persons identified in paragraph 4 of COTG’s Mission Statement:

4) to minister to and protect those in need such as the hungry, the sick, the poor, the homeless, the indebted, the enslaved, the vulnerable, and all others who are unfairly prevented from exercising their inalienable God-given natural rights;

Recognized as a leading foreclosure defense attorney in the Pacific Northwest, Scott accepts less than minimum wage in compensation for representing COTG and homeowners fighting against illegal foreclosures. He regularly publishes his work on Academia.edu.
